The Crafting Futures: Heritage Handicraft & Garment Crafting Empowerment for Lubok Antu programme was successfully soft launched at Rumah Panjang Selindong Ulu, Tr. Rimong, marking an important step in strengthening community-based heritage entrepreneurship.

Organised by PELASAR in collaboration with the Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association (SDGA) and APPGM-SDG, the initiative aims to revitalise traditional weaving, beadwork and garment crafting while empowering the local community with sustainable skills and economic opportunities.

The programme places a strong emphasis on preserving cultural heritage by bringing traditional crafts to the forefront, while at the same time equipping participants with practical knowledge to adapt these skills for contemporary markets.

The soft launch sets the foundation for a longer-term empowerment journey for the Lubok Antu community, with hopes that the programme will nurture local talent, strengthen cultural identity and create pathways for inclusive economic growth rooted in heritage.
