The Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association (SDGA) was honoured to participate in the Sesi Libat Urus Mengenai Penilaian Berkala Sejagat (Universal Periodic Review, UPR) Keempat Malaysia di Sarawak Bersama Masyarakat Sivil, held on 23 September at Riverside Majestic Hotel.

Represented by its President, Ts. Rizzo Mungka, SDGA contributed to the dialogue by highlighting higher education and graduate employability as key priority areas within the broader human rights and development framework.

During the session, Ts. Rizzo emphasised the importance of establishing a structured funnel from university to job placement, ensuring that graduates are effectively guided, supported and encouraged to contribute meaningfully to Sarawak’s development. He also called for a comprehensive state-level plan to better align student funding mechanisms, graduate pathways and employment opportunities.

The President reaffirmed SDGA’s commitment to strengthening the education-to-employment ecosystem in Sarawak, citing the association’s ongoing initiatives such as assisting graduates in obtaining professional certifications and enhancing their career readiness and employability.

Through its participation in the engagement, SDGA continues to position itself as a constructive partner in advancing inclusive development, the right to education and socio-economic empowerment, in line with Malaysia’s broader commitments under the Universal Periodic Review framework.
