Venue: Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur
The Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association (SDGA) is grateful for the opportunity to participate in Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak (LBAS) 2025 held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement with Dayak graduates studying and working in Peninsular Malaysia.
At the core of SDGA’s participation was its membership drive, which aimed to expand the association’s network among students and young professionals living far from home. By welcoming new members into its growing community, SDGA seeks to provide access to mentorship, collaboration and opportunities that empower Dayak talents to thrive in their academic and professional journeys, while remaining connected to their roots.
In parallel, SDGA conducted an employability, entrepreneurship and graduate issues survey to gather real insights from the Dayak community in Semenanjung. Feedback was collected through direct engagement at the SDGA booth as well as submissions received throughout the programme, allowing the association to hear a broad range of perspectives. These inputs offered a clearer picture of current challenges faced by graduates, including career pathways, access to opportunities, entrepreneurship readiness and support systems, and will continue to guide SDGA’s understanding of the evolving needs of its community.
During the event, SDGA also had the honour of meeting the Premier of Sarawak, Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr. Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari, alongside distinguished leaders, community champions and fellow non-governmental organisations. Their encouragement further motivated SDGA to continue advocating for Dayak representation, talent development and leadership in spaces that shape the future of Sarawak.
Meaningful exchanges with educators, student leaders and Anak Sarawak from various universities were among the highlights of the programme. Listening to their personal journeys underscored the importance of maintaining strong community bonds and uplifting one another, even when living and working far from home.
SDGA extends its appreciation to the organisers of Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak for providing a platform that brings Sarawakians together and strengthens the connection between Sarawak and its people in the peninsula.
The experience reaffirmed SDGA’s long-term commitment to building stronger networks, supporting career readiness, nurturing entrepreneurship and ensuring that the voices of Dayak graduates remain present in national conversations. The association returns home with valuable insights, renewed purpose and optimism for the future of the community.
SDGA invites all Dayak graduates and Anak Sarawak to walk this journey together, as the association continues its work to grow, connect and empower the community. The story continues, and everyone has a place in it.
