Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association (SDGA) made a courtesy call on the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia last Tuesday.
The 14-member delegation was led by its President, Gary Ningkan, Deputy-President, Dr. Jawing Chunggat and fellow Executive Cpmmittee (ExCo) members.
During the session, our YAB CM was introduced to the new members of the Association’s ExCo as well as briefed on its past and upcoming programs, strategic goals/directions and future ambitions. It was stressed by the President that SDGA will be very much focused on its main agenda which is the education and employment of dayak folks especially in rural areas.
YAB CM was also impressed with SDGA’s future direction whereby emphasis is put on creating awareness, educating and exposing the younger generation to new digital technology and knowledge to prepare us for Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). Not only is this in-line with the State Government’s ambition to spearhead Sarawak & her people into Digital Economy and IR4.0 but also appears to be a growing global trend that we cannot afford to ignore and get left behind on, especially our brothers and sisters in rural Sarawak.
Last but not least, YAB CM has pledged to assist SDGA financially and also to provide the Association with its own building which will make SDGA better-equipped to hold future events, training programs and seminars, not only for its members but for all fellow Sarawakians.
We would like to thank YAB CM for giving us his time and the opportunity to meet and talk with him. We very much look forward to working together with the State Government in improving and developing education and tackling issues regarding employability of our graduates. Once again, thank you YAB CM.
