The Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association (SDGA) was honoured to collaborate with the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) and the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) in a dynamic platform where research, technology, and creative innovation came together under one roof.

Held in Sibu, RETEX25 served as a showcase of Sarawak’s growing innovation ecosystem, featuring exhibitions, talks, and engagement sessions that brought together key players from academia, industry, and government.

As part of the event, HackWknd by UTS took place from 17 to 19 July 2025. A 48-hour hackathon themed “Future-Ready Innovation for Education and Community”. The competition gathered university and secondary school students to develop tech-driven solutions, with a total prize pool of RM7000.

Represented by President Ts. Rizzo Mungka, Deputy Treasurer Ms. Aileen Kumang, and Executive Committee Member Mr. Jacob, SDGA proudly contributed as speakers and mentors. The team guided participants in refining their ideas, strengthening business models, and developing impactful technology-based solutions.

This meaningful collaboration with UTS and SDEC reflects a shared commitment to future proofing Sarawak’s talent through innovation, entrepreneurship, and hands-on learning/ Together, we are shaping a vibrant and tech-driven community of changemakers for Sarawak and beyond.
