Venue: Rumah Panjai Sebangki Panjai
The Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association (SDGA) officially launched its inaugural Aram Begempuru Community Outreach Programme on Saturday, 27 September 2025 at Rumah Panjai Sebangki Panjai here, with support from the All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia on Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG).
The launch marks the beginning of a three-month initiative aimed at bridging gaps in welfare, health, education and youth empowerment through a series of town hall sessions, mobile outreach activities and a concluding one-stop exhibition. By bringing relevant agencies, healthcare providers and institutions directly to the community, the programme seeks to address limited access to government services, health-related challenges and the need for guidance in youth entrepreneurship.
Among the highlights of the programme were expert sharing sessions involving representatives from the welfare, health and education sectors, a health awareness briefing focusing on diabetes, cholesterol and hypertension, as well as a dialogue session that provided space for the local community to share feedback and concerns.
Tuai Rumah Eddy Riang expressed his appreciation for the initiative, noting that education, welfare and health form three strong pillars for longhouse outreach, and described the session as both fruitful and meaningful for the community.
Programme Director Brandon Beckham said the Aram Begempuru initiative serves as a platform that brings people, agencies and partners together to collectively uplift rural communities through coordinated and inclusive engagement.
Following the successful kickoff, the Aram Begempuru programme will continue in Lubok Antu with a series of follow-up activities, including health awareness programmes, entrepreneurship clinics and further community dialogues, to ensure sustained impact and long-term benefits for rural communities.
